“Optimising LinkedIn impact for automotive logistics,

with a focus on PCC/PCTC vessels and RoRo terminals”

📅 Date & Time: Wednesday, 22 October, 13:00–16:00 CET
Modality: Online training via live video

🧑‍💻 Who this training is for:

This three-hour training is intended for professionals across the automotive logistics value chain, including:

  • Marketing professionals

  • Communications and branding teams

  • Sales and commercial representatives

  • Executive spokespersons and C-suite decision-makers

The training is particularly relevant for companies that operate PCC/PCTC and other RoRO vessels and RoRo terminals, as well as for those involved in automotive logistics and the physical transportation of finished vehicles. Suppliers of equipment and services for vessels and port terminals will also find it relevant. The training could also be of interest to logistics experts inside major OEMs.

👋 Welcome and format overview

Duration: 10 minutes
Purpose: To welcome participants, and explain the structure of the session.

This brief introduction sets the tone for the training and outlines how the three-hour session will unfold. Participants will gain an understanding of the training goals, the key role of LinkedIn in B2B marketing and how each section will contribute to developing their practical communication skills in this sector.

🧭 Part 1: Setting the context– Who’s who in automotive logistics

Duration: 20 minutes
Purpose: To provide participants with an overview of the entire automotive logistics ecosystem, from factory to final destination, with a focus on shipping and port interfaces.

Key stakeholder segments:

  • PCC/PCTC vessel operators

  • Other RoRo carriers

  • RoRo terminal operators

  • Automotive logistics providers (e.g. 3PLs, VLSPs)

  • Road and rail transport for finished vehicles

  • Suppliers of RoRo equipment and services (for both vessels and terminals)

  • OEMs (vehicle manufacturers)

🌟 Part 2: The top 25 LinkedIn posts from across the industry over the last 12 months

Duration: 35 minutes
Purpose: To showcase real-world LinkedIn posts from the PCC/PCTC, RoRo terminals, and automotive logistics sectors that achieved high engagement and explain why they were successful.

Approach:

  • The 25 best-performing LinkedIn posts were selected from several hundred published over the past year.

  • For each post, brief explanation on how the topic, visual impact, structure, tone, and engagement strategy contributed to its success, prioritising the factors that attracted audience attention and interaction.

Key observations from the review: Certain themes and content patterns generate the highest levels of engagement across the sector, providing a clear indication of what professional audiences on LinkedIn find most engaging.

Content limitations to acknowledge: While some topics generate strong engagement, they often reflect rare or non-repeatable milestones, such as the maiden voyage of a newly built PCC/PCTC vessel or the inauguration of a major RoRo terminal expansion. This presents a challenge for marketers seeking consistent visibility. It raises the question of how companies can maintain an active and relevant presence on LinkedIn when such headline-worthy moments are unavailable.

💡 Part 3: Expanding the message – Untapped and fresh content opportunities

Duration: 35 minutes
Purpose:
To shift the focus from what has been done to what could be done, by exploring a wide range of underrepresented topics that can be approached in new and engaging ways.

There are far greater opportunities for impactful LinkedIn content in the automotive logistics sector than are currently visible. Many high-potential topics are simply not being covered, while others, though familiar, could be explored from more creative or customer-oriented perspectives.

This section introduces a variety of new ideas, illustrated with 15 examples from non-company posts across the sector. The aim is to inspire content strategies that will add variety, build brand recognition and open up new lines of communication for companies throughout the automotive logistics chain.

🧱 Part 4: Structural limitations to visibility on LinkedIn

Duration: 20 minutes
Purpose: To consider the systemic and strategic challenges that restrict the reach and exposure of automotive logistics content on LinkedIn.

At a macro level, there are structural issues that make it difficult for the first six of the seven sectors mentioned above to gain broader visibility. Marketing teams need to be aware of such structural limitations in order to realise when maximum creativity is needed and also avoid causing frustration. The exception is OEMs, which already enjoy significant visibility and brand recognition thanks to their extensive branding campaigns and do not need to promote their logistics operations.

📱 Part 5: Understanding when and why to create accounts on other social media platforms

Duration: 25 minutes
Purpose: To examine social media channels that could complement LinkedIn for each of the first six sectors mentioned above.

While LinkedIn remains the primary B2B platform, some companies may find it beneficial to have accounts on other social media platforms. This section explores which platforms might be worth considering for different market segments, and explains why they could be effective.

❓ Part 6: Questions & Answers

Duration: 30 minutes
Purpose: To give participants the chance to ask questions, clarify concepts, and discover how the training content can be applied to their roles or companies.

This interactive segment encourages discussion and the sharing of experiences to provide a deeper insight into LinkedIn strategies for the automotive logistics sector. Participants are encouraged to send their questions in advance by email to enable the speaker to provide better answers.

🤝 Part 7: Closure and final notes

Duration: 5 minutes
